Acceptance and inclusion start by talking about it. Prism Peers is an ally group discussion that encourages individuals to speak and learn about the LGBTQIA+ community. Understanding their history, lifestyle and challenges makes our allyship stronger and thus makes the community more united. We have conducted two ally group discussions with a total of 22 allies in Nepal (data of August 2020).
Expanding our safe space, ISLearning launched its first affinity group discussion in collaboration with Canopy Nepal for the members of LGBTQIA+ community. Facilitated by Dr. Clement Gomes, the founder of ISLearning and a gender and sexuality science educator from New York, Prism Peers affinity group is a safe space for individuals of all ages to share their stories and uplift one another. With a total of 6 affinity members, we conduct a meeting every three weeks (data of August 2020).
